Frances Louise Ward's Obituary
Frances Louise Ward, age 83, of Chanute, KS, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at Arrowood Lane in Humboldt, KS. Frances was born on March 10, 1934 in Moultray, Georgia, the daughter of Ralph and Clora (Hughes) Clayton.
She married Raymond Lee Ikehorn in 1952 in Powder Springs, GA. They had four children before getting divorced after 20 years of marriage. On November 5, 1974, she married Donald Ralph Ward in Miami, OK. They were married for 37 years before he preceded her in death on March 7, 2012.
Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed traveling, especially to see her sister. She loved plants and working in her yard and was a great bowler. Frances worked as a floor clerk at Cardinal Drug for about 15 years and co-owned Star Furniture for 25 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Business Professional Women. Frances attended Grant Avenue Baptist church for many years, and more recently attended Faith Bible Church.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Raymond and Donald; and brother, A.J. Clayton.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel in Chanute, KS. A funeral service will be on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute.
