Fred Wendel Brown's Obituary
Fred Wendel Brown, age 74, passed away in Chanute, KS on February 5, 2015. Fred was born on September 26, 1940 in Fairfield, IL; the son of Fred W. and Valderee Ubyrle (Brown) Brown.
Fred enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and he received his GED while in the service. Fred served from 1957 – 1965 during the Vietnam War and the Cuban Missile Crisis. After serving in the Navy, Fred worked as a painter. Fred enjoyed going fishing and spending time with his family.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Ben Brown and Gary Brown.
He is survived by two brothers: Cleve Brown and wife Ruth of Sun City, AZ, and Bill Brown and wife Jackie of Chanute, KS; a sister: Beverly Miller of Nowata, OK, a step brother: Frank DeMoss of Nowata, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date. The family suggests memorials be made to the Chanute Christian Academy and sent in care of Countryside Funeral Home 101 N. Highland Chanute, KS 66720.
