Freda D Harrod's Obituary
Freda D. Harrod, age 91, a resident of Howard, Kansas passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Howard Twilight Manor. She was born August 17, 1920 in Parsons, Kansas the daughter of Archie and Thelma (McKinzie) Lewis.
She married Floyd Ramsey on December 21, 1938 and twin boys, Jimmy Lee and Joe Dean were born from this union. Freda was employed 15 years at the Winfield State Training School and worked at various nursing homes throughout the years. Freda was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge #154 of Howard and Order of Eastern Star, Queen City Chapter #138 in Winfield. She enjoyed working with her flowers and collecting pretty dishes.
Freda is survived by her twin sons; Joe Ramsey and wife Carolyn of Mulvane, Kansas and Jim Ramsey and wife Pat of Haysville, Kansas, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Floyd Ramsey, James Shelton and Dallas Harrod and granddaughter Teresa Ramsey.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Howard United Methodist Church with Pastor Charles Cryderman officiating. Viewing will be held Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Grace Lawn Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to the Howard Twilight Manor and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
