Garland Ermil Frischenmeyer's Obituary
Garland E. Frischenmeyer, 98, went home to be with her Lord, her husband and many others on June 28, 2014, at Diversicare in Chanute.
Garland was born on December 3, 1915, to William R. Byington and Georgia Elizabeth (Bradley) Byington in Bedford, Iowa.
She moved to Kansas where she met her future husband in Iola and Garland married A.A. Frischenmeyer on October 22, 1938. He preceded her in death on February 23, 1998. They moved to Chanute and made this their home.
Garland loved her Lord and her faith was amazing. She attended First Baptist Church and was a Goodwill Secretary there for 30 years. She also did the Memorial pages for Cherry Street Youth Center because she had the most beautiful hand writing.
Garland is survived by her daughter; Jan Shipley of the home, grand kittens; Ewok, Kallie, Jewelsie, Nikita, Checkers, Sugar, and Abby, two great nephews; Regan Studna of Overland Park, KS and Dennis Studna of Louisburg, KS, great niece; Cheryl Townsend of Parker, KS, great great-nephew; James Studna of Parker, KS, two Goddaughters; Cherry Sheldon of Columbia, MO and Linda Powers of Thayer, KS, one granddaughter A1C Hayley Guzman of Hurlburt field, FL, one grandson; Justin Cooper of Columbia, MO, a son; Garland A. Frischenmeyer and family.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, July 5, 2014 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Chanute. Family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
