George Kenneth Bruner's Obituary
George Kenneth Bruner, age 90, of El Dorado, KS passed away Monday, June 13, 2016 at Avita at Reeds Cove in Wichita. George was born March 21, 1926 in Moline, KS the son of Andrew Frank and Minnie (Horning) Bruner.
George served his country by joining the United States Navy when he was 17 years old. On May 4, 1951 he married Darlene Leo at Moline, KS and to this union two daughters were born. George worked as a welder working on railroad tank cars that held petroleum products. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed combining his love of farm auctions and estate sales with his love for Kansas history, and has collected many unique items over the years.
George is survived by his wife; Darlene, daughters; Kenna Bruner and partner Eric Johnson of Boulder, Co., Cinda Bruner Darwin and husband Steve of El Dorado, KS, 1 grandchild, and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Andrew and Minnie, brother; Frank Leroy Bruner, sisters; Betty Louise Hornbuckle, and Mary Elizabeth Theissen.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, June 17, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at the Moline City Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Moline Library and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home at P.O. Box 1233, Howard, KS. 67349.
