George Sterling Phillips' Obituary
George Sterling Phillips, age 88 of Fredonia, KS, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Susan B. Allen Hospital in El Dorado, KS. George was born on September 26, 1927 in Pocahontas, Alabama, the son of George B. and Helen J. (Strain) Phillips
After High School, George served in the US Army from 1945 to 1947 earning the rank of Sgt. After his return, George worked for Beech Aircraft in Wichita for 38 years until his retirement. George was a member of the Masonic Lodge 163 out of Fall River, KS. He was a member of the Camping Club, and sang and played guitar for numerous Country Bands.
On July 9, 1949 George married Margaret Mullins she passed away on November 8, 1981. On November 8, 1993, George married Alma Roseberry (Morgan), she survives at their home in Fredonia.

George was preceded in death by his parents and son Barry Phillips
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10:30 am at Countryside Funeral Home, Fredonia, with Pastor Eldon Meyers officiating, with burial to follow at Weakly Cemetery near New Albany, visitation will be Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 4-6 PM at the funeral home Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com Memorials have been suggested to Fredonia High School Band and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
