Geraldine H. "Jerri" Walker's Obituary
Geraldine H. “Jerri” Walker, age 86 of Altoona, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Fredonia. She was born on May 20, 1927 in Ponca City, OK the daughter of Russell Edgar and Elsie P. (Pugh) Johnson.
Jerri was a graduate of Fredonia High School. She was very active in her church, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Jerri was musically talented, she could play most instruments and sang in a quartet on the radio. She enjoyed working in her garden, sewing, and loved horses. She was known to bring meals to families in need, and a great baker. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family, and watching her grandchildren.
On November 3, 1951 in Huntville, Arkansas she married John William Walker Sr. Jerri and John lived on a farm east of Altoona where they raised their family and farmed, they were married for 58 years until his death on August 27, 2010.

13 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, granddaughter Katherine Walker and brother Bill Johnson
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia with Pastor Darrell Bissel and Preston Walker officiating, with burial to follow at the Altoona Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials have been suggested to the: Adopt-A-Family and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
