Gilda Maxine Holloway's Obituary
Gilda Maxine Holloway, 65, of Chanute, KS passed away on March 15, 2019 in Ottawa, KS. She was born to Gilbert C. and Barbara (Long) Ranz in Little Rock, AR on April 20, 1953. Gilda married David K. Holloway in Miami, OK on November 22, 1986. He survives at their home.
Gilda was a loving wife, mom, and grandma who had a fun, positive, and upbeat personality that drew others to her. She preferred staying busy, whether with her hobbies of sudoku or cryptograms, of which she completed at nearly an expert level, or with acts of kindness helping others. Gilda was completely selfless and often worried about others well-being ahead of her own. Her drive to help others was inspiring to those around her and will be one of the many things that will be missed.
Gilda retired as the accounts payable clerk for the City of Chanute in 2013 after 25 years of service.

Gilda was preceded in death by her parents; stepson, Nic Holloway; and brother-in-law, Phil Orbison.
Cremation has been requested. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Gibson Chapel. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. The family suggests memorials to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 16 N. Forest, Chanute, KS 66720.
