Glen Albert Ridgeway's Obituary
Glen A. Ridgeway, age 81, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at his home in Moline, Kansas. Glen was born to parents William Thomas and Lottie Ruth (Wike) Ridgeway in rural Leon, Kansas on November 13, 1934.
Glen was active in the community having served on the Board of the Moline Clinic and was a major part of the operating and accounting of the Elk County Food Pantry located in Moline at the Christian Church. He also was a lifetime member of the American Legion and belonged to the Moline Post.
On May 16, 2011 Glen married Jean Knickerbocker, who survives him at the home. Jean describes Glen as not wanting to be in the lime-light and that he was a “big tease.” She said that he also loved BBQ and that she will miss him terribly.
Glen is survived by his wife, Jean of Moline, Kansas; 2 daughters Denise and Kathy; 1 step-daughter Judy Dewey of Winfield, Kansas; 2 step-sons Phillip Knickerbocker and Mark Knickerbocker and 1 nephew Darrell Randle. Preceding him in death are his parents, a deceased sister Betty Randle and a deceased step-son David Knickerbocker.
Visitation will be Monday, August 22, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home, 206 East Washington, in Howard, Kansas. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Moline City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Elk County Food Pantry and may be left or sent to the funeral home.
