Glen William Wilson's Obituary
Glen W. Wilson, age 77, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at his home in Eureka, Kansas, after a long illness.
Glen was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on November 13, 1938. He spent most of his youth in Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island, Washington where he graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1956.
On June 24, 1961, he was united in marriage to Carma Leta Smith in Pineville, Missouri. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in June of this year.
Glen spent his entire career as a businessman. The family moved to Eureka in 1967 where they owned and operated Truskett Equipment Inc. for twenty years and Glen’s Auto Sales for ten years. Glen retired in 1997 to spend time with his grandchildren, his friends, and hobbies including photography, gardening, antique Ford tractors, and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Carma, of the home; son, Matt (Cammie) of Eureka, daughter in law, Valerie, (the late Mike Wilson), Rogers, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Haley, Paul, Autumn, Alex, Brandon, and Emily; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Jonette Whitney and Karen Roberts both of Bothell, Washington; two brothers, Floyd Wilson (Peggy) of Sandia Park, New Mexico and Joe Wilson (Shirley) of Edgewood, New Mexico; several nieces and nephews, other family members, friends, and his beloved Corgi dog, Lady.
He was preceded in death by his first born son, Michael; one brother, Ben; his dad, Floyd Wilson, his mother, Wilma (Buttram) Caldwell Wilson, and his birth father, John Caldwell.
Funeral services were held, Sunday, October 16, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church in Eureka where he was a member. Interment was at Highland Cemetery northwest of Eureka.
