Glenn Alton Keagle's Obituary
Glenn Alton Keagle, age 92, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Fredonia Regional Hospital. He was born December 12, 1917 in Marion County, Logan Township to William and Minnie (Shultz) Keagle.
Glenn served in the United States Army in World War II from 1941 to 1945 in Company #7 137th Infantry in England, France and Germany. In the battle of France, Glenn and his company earned the Bronze Star for Valor. He also fought in the Battle of Normandy.
Glenn farmed at Canton, Kansas and Fredonia, Kansas. After retiring from farming he moved to town and established a lawn care service.
Glenn is survived by one sister Muriel Writer of Roxbury, Kansas, nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time neighbor and friend Martha McGaugh of Fredonia, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 23, 2010 at Countryside Funeral Home with Pastor Max Dawson officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 PM Friday at the Valley View Cemetery, Roxbury, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to the Golden Living Center of Fredonia and may be sent to the funeral home.
