When Uncle Glenn worked for Hesston Mfg, especially on the night shift, he would go into a vacant office and call dad (in Idaho) and they would talk on Hesston's dime. Sometimes when dad was at a cattleman's association meeting, Glenn would just talk with me, a dumb 12 or 13 yr old kid, but he talked to me as an adult. I thought he was really "cool". Once when visiting Glenn and family, he took me to the Hesston plant and gave dad and I a tour!
I'm going to miss Glenn even though we lived way out in Idaho. When we were able to visit, I loved listening to his stories and his sense of humor.
