Gloria Jane Hawkinson's Obituary
Gloria Jane Hawkinson, 68, passed away October 7, 2023, at her home in rural Erie, Kansas. She struggled with End Stage Renal Disease for over six years. Gloria was born February 24, 1955 in Crescent City, California to Erlyn Dean McCall and Karen Jane McCoy-McCall. She then lived several years with foster parents, reverend Donald and Patty Peres in Savonburg, KS.
Gloria graduated from Marmaton Valley High School, Moran, Kansas in 1974. Later, she married Charles Hawkinson, May 28, 1977, at Evangelical Covenant Church near Savonburg, Kansas. They built a family soon after with four children. Gloria worked for twenty-seven years at Walmart in various departments. Baking was one of Gloria's favorite things to do. She was known for her cinnamon rolls, which she would share generously with family and co-workers. She also enjoyed going to flea markets and collecting various items, including cookbooks and drinking glasses. She loved vacationing in the mountains and also Branson, Missouri and the occasional Sunday dinners with family.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Charles Hawkinson, three sons Jeremiah (Jennifer), Daniel (Ronalyn) and Peter (MaryDawn) Hawkinson and daughter Angela Hawkinson. They also have seven grandchildren, Tyler, Sara, Matthew, Nathan, Oliver, Parker and Ezekiel Hawkinson. Family also includes brother Allan Dean McCall-Hilliard, Ohio, and many other cousins and extended family members.
