Gracie Ann Studebaker's Obituary
Gracie Ann Studebaker age 82, of Chanute, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the Chaucer Estates in Wichita, KS. Gracie was born December 4, 1931 in Oswego, KS the daughter of James Dee and Esther Corrine (Cunningham) Redmon.
She attended high school at Galesburg High School and graduated with the class of 1948.
Gracie married Ken Studebaker on September 16, 1949. Gracie and Ken loved to travel and compete in car shows across the country. Gracie also loved to dance. She was the secretary of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) and was a member of the Studebaker Club. Gracie was a member of Ambassador Christian Church of Chanute.
Gracie is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ritchey and husband Robert of Sedgwick, KS, brothers; James Redmon and wife Maureen of Yuma, AZ, and David Redmon and wife Ann of Manhattan, KS, grandsons; SFC Michael Ritchey and wife Amy of LaGrange, KY, and Jason Ritchey and wife Erin of Overland Park, KS, and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.K. “Ken”, parents; James Redmon and Esther Redmon-Williams, sister; Jane Rishel.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel in Chanute, KS. Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel in Chanute. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS.
