Hannelore Erna Mahoney's Obituary
Hannelore Erna Mahoney, age 88, of Chanute, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 in Chanute, Kansas. Hannelore was born on December 19, 1928 in Nordhausen, Germany, the daughter of Gustav and Marie (Günther) Wilhelm.
On July 20, 1957, Hannelore married James B. Mahoney at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Chanute. James preceded her in death on August 2, 1995.
Hannelore was a wife and a homemaker. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chanute, Kansas. Hannelore was also a member of the Peacemakers and attended the Chanute Senior Center.
Hannelore is survived by:
One niece and nephew in Germany and several other nieces and nephews in the United States.
Hannelore was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, James.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chanute, KS on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Friends will be greeted for a brief visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. before the service. Interment will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Chanute. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to the Zion Lutheran Church Sonshine Preschool and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Services have been entrusted to: Countryside Funeral Home 101 N.
