Natasha Gagnon lit a candle in memory of Harold Barnhart

He was my 6th grade teacher in 1965 and I did not realize it was his first year of teaching at Murray Hill until now! I remember his style, calm, supportive and educating with care. He was the first one who told me and my mom that I probably needed glasses as I could not see the chalkboard! What a great teacher and human being to be a role model to so many over the years !
I am sorry for your loss.
I remember the days when I was I. Elementary school and he would pick me to eat lunch with him and a couple of my friends. I will miss him and he will always have a special part in my heart.
I attended Alcott Elementary my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades and can remember Mr Barnhart being the FIRST person greeting us as we entered the building. He took lunch with us and visited our classrooms. He touched so many lives and spread his love for us evenly. He will truly be missed. Til we meet again Mr. Barnhart!! Stacy Kenyon (Baughn)
Mr. Barnhart was a true joy to be around. Not only do we have him to thank for his years of investing in our kids' lives, he literally saved my son, a first grader at the time, from choking on food in the school lunchroom with his observant watchfulness, deft Heimlich move, and his care.
He will be missed greatly here on earth, but it will be a joy to see him again when we reach heaven.

Sending prayers to the family as Mr. Barnhart was a good man and an excellent teacher, the loss will effect many lives as he molded many lives as children. I will always have fond memories of him.
