Harold Dean "Dutch" Dice's Obituary
Harold Dean “Dutch” Dice, age 88 of Fredonia, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the V. A. Medical Center in Wichita. Dutch was born on January 25, 1926 in Fredonia, KS, the son of James Fredrick and Leta Marie (Toothman) Dice
Dutch was a graduate of Fredonia High School. In December of 1943 he joined the U.S. Army and served during WWII, where he received 2 Purple Heart Medals, a Bronze Star, and the Presidential Citation for his service. He served until May 2, 1946.
In 1947 Dutch married Ruby Ferris, she survives at their home. Dutch worked as an independent Exterminator for many years. He was a member of the American Legion, a Lifetime member of the VFW Lodge 3018. He enjoyed antique cars and was a member of the Dalton Gang car club, and the NRA. In his spare time he enjoyed going on motorcycle rides, hunting and crappie fishing, and touring the national parks with Ruby. Most of all, Dutch put his family first, and enjoyed being with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and Son Larry Dice
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at the Fredonia City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home Memorials have been suggested to the Wounded Warriors Project and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
