Harold Edward "Eddie" Fulps' Obituary
Harold Edward Fulps, age 77 of Chanute, KS, passed away at Neodesha Rehab Center on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Eddie was born on May 26, 1941 in Chanute, KS the son of Harold and Lena (Betty) Fulps.
Eddie graduated from Chanute High School in 1959, then married the love of his life Carolyn (Matlock) on February 28, 1959. They were lifelong residents of Chanute.
Eddie started his career at Disney’s Market at the age of 13 and went on to become the butcher at Disney’s for 43 years. He took pride in his work and was loved by all. After Disney’s closed, Eddie worked at Save A Lot until his retirement in 2003.
Eddie loved his family, he was kind hearted and you never saw him without a smile on his face. He had a contagious laugh, he loved music, dancing (Jitterbug), Friday night get togethers with his family, and he loved to stay busy. He enjoyed helping his brother, Steve and brother-in-law, Chick on rental homes after his retirement.
Eddie is survived by his wife Carol of Chanute; daughter, Susie Ellis and husband Randy of Erie, KS and Sally Hall of Chanute, KS; 4 grandson: Bryan Luttrel and wife Madhu of Seattle WA, Brett Luttrell and wife Julie of Chanute, KS, Trey Ellis of Overland Park, KS and Garrett Hall of Chanute, KS; 8 great grandchildren: Owen, Joe, Jake, Lehan, Anaya, Audree, Avarie and Canden; a brother, Steve Fulps and sister, Judy (Fulps) Shores.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law’s, Herbert “Chick” Shores and Randall “Randy” Matlock.
Cremation has been requested. A graveside service will be on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. The family suggests memorials to be made Kindred Hospice and Southeast Kansas Alzheimer’s Association and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
