Harold Eugene Redburn's Obituary
Harold Eugene Redburn, age 93, of Chanute, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 in Chanute, Kansas. Harold was born on February 21, 1923 in Shidler, Oklahoma. He was the son Harve Augustus and Gladys Agnes (Tobin) Redburn.
On July 9, 1946 he was united in marriage to Marjorie Jean McVicker and they had six children together. She precedes him in death.
Harold served his country during WWII with the 505th Parachute Infantry of the US Army alongside the 82nd Airborne. He worked as a member of a team, dropping behind enemy lines to disrupt communications and weaken defenses in the countries of France and Germany. Harold was a hard worker and was very proud of his work including delivering milk for many years with Page Milk Co, Witworth, and Meadow Sweet. He later retired from a job working for the Army Ammunition Plant as a heavy equipment operator and supervisor. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with outdoor activities such as horseback riding and boating. He also enjoyed woodworking, playing guitar, and assisting his children with 4-H. He was a member of the Bit & Spur Saddle Club and a lifetime member of the American Legion.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marjorie; a son: Glen Scott Redburn; a brother: Rollo Redburn; and sisters: Flo Hogland and Freda Linquist.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Big Creek United Methodist Church in Chanute, KS on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Ceremonies by Chanute Honor Guard. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
