Harold Eugene Richards Jr's Obituary
Harold “Junior” Eugene Richards Jr, age 55, of Erie, KS, passed away January 5, 2016 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. He was surrounded by his wife and his families love when entering the pearly gates. Jr. was born on April 22, 1960 in Wichita, KS, son of Harold and Ruth Richards. Jr. attended Chanute High School. He worked as a carpenter, mason, and other various jobs throughout his lifetime. Jr. married Cindy (Ashlock) Richards of Erie, KS on July 8, 2015 in Casper, Wyoming. He had a love for his family and friends. He had a hobby for fishing and sitting down by the river with his wife. Jr. was the comedian of the family and was always the life of the party no matter when or where he was. He will always be remembered as an awesome husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle, and friend to anyone and everyone. He is gone by sight but will never be forgotten and will be missed dearly by many.
Jr. is survived by one daughter, Courtney Richards of Chanute, KS and a step-daughter, Teria Ashlock of Fredonia, KS. He was an amazing Papa to 3 granddaughters, a step-granddaughter, and 2 step grandsons. Jr. has a brother, Buck Richards of Erie, KS, 4 sisters, Connie and Mike Watkins of Erie, KS, Sherry and Tim Mitchell of Chanute, KS, Colleen and Butch Krout of Casper, Wyoming, Teri and Rusty Robinson of Chanute, KS. He also has 10 nieces and nephews and 21 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, both parents, and a nephew.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, Johnson Chapel in Chanute, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countryisdefh.com.
