Mr. Tarpley was my music instructor at NCCC, and was very patient with me, a country girl with more desire than talent. He had such a love for music that it spread to those around him. It was fun to sing under his direction, watching him feel the beat and enjoy it all himself. He was a favorite of mine, for sure, always smiling. I pray that those wonderful memories will sustain his family through this time of loss.
