Hazel Bernice Lindsey's Obituary
Bernice Lindsey, age 80, a resident of Carol Stream, IL, died December 16, 2016. She was born March 2, 1926 in Humbolt, KS.
She attended a one-room schoolhouse for elementary school near her grandparent’s home. She often rode her pony to school. Later, she attended Humbolt High School.
She married Kenneth E. Lindsey on August 21, 1948. They had two children Kenneth D. Lindsey and Guyla M. Kryka.
She was active in starting special education classes in Chanute, KS for her son Kenny and other children in the community. She loved to sew and was very active in her church.
She is survived by her older sister Marjorie Kirschner of Munday, TX, her son-in-law, Anton J. Kryka Sr., and four grandchildren, Anton Jr., Richard (Marcie), Kyle, and Jason Kryka of Salem Township, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Leona Baker, her husband, Kenneth E. Lindsey, her two children, and two grandchildren, James and John.
A visitation will be held December 20, 2016 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at Hultgren Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held December 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home. A visitation will also take place December 22, 2016 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm. at Countryside Funeral Home in Humboldt, KS, interment will follow at Mount Hope in Humboldt, KS.
