Helen C. Blankenship's Obituary
Helen C. Blankenship, age 85, of Fall River, Kansas, died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at her home. Helen was born on April 26, 1926 in Alma, Kansas the daughter of George William and Laura Ann (Schreiber) Thowe.
On November 29, 1959, in Wichita, Kansas Helen married Jack R. Blankenship, Helen and Jack were married for 51 years, Jack survives at their home.
Helen worked on her farm with her husband Jack, working in the fields and taking care of livestock. Helen was a member of the Fall River United Methodist Church, and active with the Methodist Women’s group. When not working on the farm or taking care of her family and home, Helen was active with the Fredonia Promenade, Fall River 4-H Club, Fall River Booster Club, Fall River over 55ers, and the Square Stoppers out of Independence, Kansas.
In her spare time, Helen enjoyed sewing, quilting, and all types of stitch work. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family and cooking for them.

Grace Hanser of Glen Carbon, Illinois
17 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Esther Socha, and two brother in laws Art Socha and Carl Hanser.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 8 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the Fall River United Methodist Church with Pastor Susan Galvan officiating, with burial to follow at the Eureka City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 4-6 PM at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia. Memorials have been suggested to Hospice Care of Kansas, and may be left with the funeral home.
