Helen J Pekrul's Obituary
Helen J. Pekrul, age 104 died Friday, July 7, 2017 at Montgomery Place Care Facility in Independence, KS. Helen was born on December 6, 1912 to Albert and Lizzie (Krocker) Janes, on a farm 4 miles south of Goltry, OK.
After attending a country grade school and graduating from Goltry High School, on January 19, 1934, Helen married Clarence Pekrul. Helen and Clarence were married for 65 years until his death of January 9, 1999. In 1950, Helen and Clarence moved to Fredonia, KS. They became active in the community and their church.
Helen worked at what is now known as Fredonia Regional Hospital for more than 27 years in the nursery, and labor and delivery. The joy of her life was her children, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, 4 brothers: Clyde, Leonard, Fay, and Lester Janes, 3 sisters Lorene Unruh, Marie Buller and Mable Jaynes
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Fredonia City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-7 PM at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to Fredonia Regional Hospital and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
