Herb E. Huser's Obituary
Herbert Eugene Huser, age 80, a resident of Fredonia, died Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kansas. He was born January 21, 1928 in Neodesha, Kansas, the son of Bernard Huser and Beatrice (Ellis) Huser. A Graduate of Elk City class of 1946.
On August 28, 1948, Herb was united in marriage to Ethel M. Roth in Independence, Kansas at St. Andrews Catholic Church. He was a lifetime Farmer and Rancher in the Fredonia area, and his farm and family were the most important part of his life. Herb was a member of Knights of Columbus, The Farm Bureau, and the Rural Fire District. He loved to go on Sunday drives, checking on the cattle and the farm crops. He also loved to watch his grandchildren and go fishing with them.
He is survived by his wife Ethel Huser of Fredonia, Kansas, five sons David Huser of Cheryvale, Dan Huser of Garden City, Steve Huser of Fredonia, Mark Huser of Fredonia, and Roger Huser of Fredonia, four daughters, Rosanna Shue of Topeka, Geralyn Krause of Waverly, Myra Huser of Bentonville Arkansas, and Kathy McVey of Fredonia, Two Sisters Mary Hancock and Patricia Denney, both of Webb City, Missouri, one brother, Bob Huser, 28 Grandchildren, and 17 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Grandson Camron, one sister, one brother, and both his parents.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 5, 2009 from Noon until 5 P.M. at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, Kansas. Rosary will be Monday January 5 at 7 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday January 6 at 10 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fredonia, Kansas. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Fredonia. Contributions are suggested to either the Seminarians/Retired Priests or the Ronald McDonald House and may be left with the funeral home.
