Herbert Gabino Sanchez's Obituary
Heriberto G. Sanchez (Herb), age 71, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute, KS. Herb was born April 10, 1943 in Garnett, KS, the son of Jesus J. Sanchez and Josefina Ysusi Sanchez.
He graduated from Humboldt High School and then attended Neosho County Community College. Herb graduated from Kansas State Teacher's College with a Bachelor of Science in Education. He earned a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction at Emporia State University. Herb was a life-long educator and family man.
Herb was preceded in death by his parents Jesus J. Sanchez and Josefina Ysusi Sanchez, his sister Catalina Sanchez and two brothers, Jesus Sanchez Jr. and Pedro Sanchez. He is survived by his children, Stephanie Sanchez of Emporia, KS; Leslie Beesley and husband, Kevin of Tulsa, OK and Michael Sanchez and wife Janelle of Independence, MO. Herb is survived by Mary Sanchez-Rodriguez, sister, Chanute, KS and sisters Maggie T. Sanchez and Angelina Sanchez of the home. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Isabel Sanchez and Alexandra Sanchez and dear friend, Jean Bolson.
Mass of Christian of Burial for Herb is planned for Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chanute. Rosary will take place evening prior, February 23, 2015 at 7 p.m.at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association and the National Kidney Foundation and may be sent in care of Countryside Funeral Home 101 N. Highland Chanute, KS 66720.
