Irene Marie Guyot's Obituary
Irene Marie Guyot, of Elk City, KS age 96, died Monday, September 15, 2014 at Montgomery Place in Independence, KS. Irene was born on June 10, 1918 in Jinks, OK the daughter of Richard Levi and Dona Stella (Taber) Jones.
After high school, Irene married Francis Eugene Guyot on February 29, 1936 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Irene worked along Francis on their farm raising their family and she also worked for Boeing.
Irene was very active in the community working with various clubs and community events. She was a several year member or the Order of Eastern Star and also served as a Worthy Matron in 1992. Irene was very artistic and she loved working with crafts and making quilts. Irene also liked to travel to different Countries and go on cruises.

Daughter: Cindy Weaver and husband Richard of Elk City, KS
10 Grandchildren: Richard D. Weaver, Emily Treibel, Melissa Starrett, Kimberly Bruce, Dorinda Carlson, Amanda Pickett, Deborah Ogden, James, John and Larry Guyot
19 Great Grandchildren, 11 Great-Great Grandchildren and 1 Great, Great-Great Grandchild
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis, Son Walter E. Guyot, Daughter Karen Kay Guyot, Great Grandson Travis Guyot and Great-Great Granddaughter Madison Ogden.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, with burial to follow at the Douglass Cemetery in Douglass, Kansas. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 at the funeral home.
