Irma R. Yeoman's Obituary
Irma R. Yeoman (Maxwell), 82, a lifelong resident of the Fredonia area, died Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Labbette County Medical Center in Parsons, Kansas. She was born August 16, 1934 in Fredonia, Kansas, the daughter of Harvey and Freeda Maxwell (Ward).
She was a graduate of Fredonia High School with the class of 1951. She and her husband owned and operated Lazy JL Western Wear and Equipment for 21 years.
She was a member of Buxton Christian Church and the Wilson County Fair Association. Her hobbies included crocheting afghans for friends, family, and charitable causes and beating everyone else at crossword puzzles.
Her survivors include: four daughters and spouses: Connie and Michael Evenson of Fredonia, KS; Sandy and John Edens of Fredonia, KS; Dava and Roger Spohn of Baldwin City, KS; Kimberly and Tony Fiscus of Norton, KS; three grandchildren: Carianne and Troy Short, Kendall and Amber Fiscus, and Tonielle Fiscus; two great grandchildren: Teel Short and Autumn Short.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J L. Yeoman, parents, and brother.
Funeral services will be held at the Bachelder Cemetery, south of Fredonia, at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 with Rev. Gene Benefiel officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. Memorials have been established in her name with the Fredonia Flag Fund and/or Buxton Christian Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
