James Donald Loomis' Obituary
James Donald Loomis, 84, of Fredonia, KS passed away June 29, 2024 in his home. James (Jim) was born on May 16th, 1940 to his Father Walter L. Loomis and Mother Verda Sierman.
James graduated from Fredonia High School in 1958 and farmed with his parents for a few years before beginning his career as a truck driver. One of his favorite things about being a truck driver was being able to travel all over the U.S. Jim had a Harley Hog and was also a member of the AMA, where he helped vets. Jim was also a huge fan of Allis Chalmers tractors, so much so that he started restoring any Allis Chalmer tractor he could get his hands on. Jim was also a member of the Old Iron Club here in Fredonia and displayed his Corn Shellers when Old Iron Days came around.
James is survived by:
Sisters- Emma Crites of Fredonia, KS
Carolyn Swenson of Wichita, KS
Brothers- Ivan Loomis of Wichita, KS
Larry Loomis of Las Vegas, NV
Stepdaughter Donna Anderes
And several Nieces and Nephews
James is preceded in death by his Father Walter L. Loomis, Mother Verda Sierman, and Son Donald.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 19th, 2024, at 11:00AM at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, KS, with the family accepting people at 10:00AM for visitation. Inurnment will follow at Weakley Cemetery. Memorials can be made out to the Fredonia Avenue of Flags or the Old Iron Club and may be left with or mailed to Countryside Funeral Home 420 S. 20th Street, P.O Box 247 Fredonia, KS 66736
