James Oliver Morris JR's Obituary
James Oliver Morris, Jr., age 87, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Neodesha, KS. James was born on December 3, 1929 in Galesburg, KS the son of James Oliver and Josephine Catherine (Dawson) Morris, Sr.
In 1950, James married Mildred Williams and they shared almost 50 years of marriage before she passed away in 2000.
On May 31, 2001, James married Lois (Harris-Delk) Morris in Albany, IL. She survives him at their home.
James worked as a welder in Kansas City before his retirement. James loved playing cards and outdoor sports, such as hunting and fishing. He loved his Pasafinos and working with his horse team, Bill and King. Once he retired, James became an avid shuffleboard player and won many trophies. He enjoyed traveling the country in his motor home and once took eleven family members on a two-week trip to California in his 26-foot motor home. James was a member of Masonic Lodge #103 and Local 83 Boilermakers Union.

James was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred, a son, Daniel Wayne Morris; brothers, Donnie Morris and Larry Morris, and a sister, Mary Lou Holman.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home-Johnson Chapel in Chanute, KS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be immediately after at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
