James "Jim" Myers' Obituary
James “Jim” Myers, age 68 of Howard, KS passed away July 7, 2019 at his home.
Jim was born August 19, 1950 in Lilbourn, MO to James and Delma Myers. He grew up on a share crop farm near Matthew, MO along with 5 siblings. After graduating High School, Jim spent 2 years in the United States Army, then attended Arkansas State University, graduating with a Masters degree in Education. He spent his career as a Vocational Ag teacher around the state of Missouri, many times helping kids find a way to stay in FFA and Vo Ag when schools were discontinuing the programs.
On April 1, 1976, he married Barbra Parker in Clarksville, Tennessee, spending the next 43 years as husband and wife, moving to Howard, KS in 2007. They raised 3 children together, James III, Jacob, and Lenore. One of their favorite things to do as a family was travel around to any and all museums and animal parks in Kansas to tour them. Jim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, FFA, Retired Teachers Association, and was an active member of the AARP.
Jim is survived by his wife Barbra, of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary, and many aunts and uncles
Cremation has been requested, the family will hold a graveside memorial service in Clarkton, Missouri at a later date.
Memorials in Jim’s name are suggested to the Wounded Warriers, and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
