James William Wunderlich's Obituary
James William “Jim” Wunderlich, age 82, a resident of rural Piedmont, Kansas passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at his home. He was born on June 27, 1932 in Sedgwick, Kansas the son of Carl and Emma (Kater) Wunderlich.
Jim served in the United States Army from November 1959 to March 1961. On April 22, 1961, Jim was united in marriage to Lila Meisch in Miami, Oklahoma. He was owner/operator of heavy equipment business. Jim enjoyed coyote hunting, fishing and working with his bulldozer.
Jim is survived by his wife Lila Wunderlich of the home; son, Lynn Wells of Howard, Kansas; daughters, Becky Courter of Piedmont; Annette Wells of Piedmont; and Carolyn Gulick of Emporia, Kansas; brothers, Harry Wunderlich of Piedmont; Jerry Wunderlich of Atlanta, Kansas; and Bobby Joe Wunderlich of Davenport, Oklahoma; sisters, Dottie Simons of Severy, Kansas; Betty Hamilton of Derby, Kansas; Grace Wiseman of Howard, Kansas; and Ruby Hitt of Topeka, Kansas; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Randy Wells; brothers, Carl; Wayne; and Raymond, sisters, Delores Powers; Rose Mary Hamilton; Mary Sallee; and Bonnie Gragg; granddaughter Kristy Chamberlain and her husband Gary Chamberlain.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Countryside Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Forest Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Piedmont Rodeo Association and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.countysidefh.com.
