Jared Russell Ray's Obituary
Jared Russell Ray, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at his home in Chanute, KS. Jared was born in Chanute on May 8, 1980, son of Joe Ray and Linda Rogers.
Jared was a graduate of Chanute High School, Class of 1998. For about ten years, Jared worked for the Neosho County Sherriff’s Department starting as a jailer and proudly working his way up to detective. Following in his Dad’s footsteps, Jared started his own floor installation company, Professional Installation by Jared Ray.
Jared enjoyed boating with his family and friends. Jared also enjoyed fishing and spending time working around the home. He looked forward to weekend getaways with Sherri.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Junior & Peggy Ray, Floyd & Margaret Russell and his stepmom, Janice Ray.
He leaves behind his beloved fiancée, Sherri Hand; stepchildren Kylie and Slade; father, Joe Ray, Chanute, KS; mother Linda Rogers and stepfather Roosevelt, Parker, CO; brothers Matt and Tyler Ray, Chanute, KS; nieces and nephews; Paige, Alyssa, Trenton, Callie, Noah, Mckenzie, and Tierra, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, Johnson Chapel at 101 N. Highland in Chanute, KS. Funeral service will be on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Chanute. Interment will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute.
