Jay Dean Lamons' Obituary
Jay Dean Lamons, age 71, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Jay was born on September 1, 1945 in Humboldt, Kansas, the son of Jack and Nadine (Wrestler) Lamons.
On March 2, 1968, Jay married Ella “Jody” Lopeman in Chanute, Kansas. Jody survives him at their home.
Jay graduated from Humboldt High School and joined the United States Air Force immediately after, where he served for four years. He was a loving dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa and was liked by everyone who knew him. His family and friends referred to him as “The Great White Hunter” because of his deer and turkey hunting abilities. Jay also enjoyed fishing in his spare time and loved doing remodeling and carpentry work, which he excelled at. He loved his family and playing with his grandkids and great-grandkids was one of the things he loved most. Jay retired as a machine operator from HBD Industries in Chanute and was a member of the Humboldt Lutheran Church.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Jackie Baker and Arleta Myers.
Cremation has been requested.

Memorials have been suggested to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or an Education Fund for his grandchildren and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
