Joe Giacoma Jr.'s Obituary
Joe Giacoma, Jr., age 89 of Chanute, KS, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. Joe was born on June 30, 1929 in Girard, KS, the son of Joe Sr. and Jennie (Cena) Giacoma. Joe graduated from Arma High School and went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from Pittsburg State University. On November 14, 1953, Joe married Patty Picht in Colorado Springs, CO.
Joe served his country in the United States Army. He was a hard worker and was an insurance agent for many years. He later became a real estate broker and started his own business, Wagon Wheel Realty. He enjoyed visiting with friends at McDonalds. Joe was very proud of his family and they were his world. He was truly a bright light in our lives. Joe was a member of Cedar Masonic Lodge #103, Ft. Scott Scottish Rite, KCCH, Pittsburg Mirza Shrine, Chanute Mirza Shrine MG Unit, American Legion Post #170 and VFW Post #1654. He was a past commander of the American Legion.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucille Anderson, son-in-laws, Mike Smith and Marty Pannell and granddaughter Amanda Hasty.
Cremation has been requested. The family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. The family suggests memorials to be made to the American Kidney Fund and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N.
