I enjoyed getting to know Joe and Doris when the moved into Morning Star. They were one of the most loving couples I have ever seen. I enjoyed hearing their dating stories. Thank goodness they didn’t shave any intimate details. He would come see her at lunch everyday as she worked. When he pulled up in front of the store he would honk and then everyone would start in on Doris telling her that her lunch date was there. He described the car he had then. He was very proud of it. I tried to google it but everyone I showed them wasn’t his car. I still wonder what it looked like. I’m sorry for your lost. I’m proud that he was able to lead a very long, healthy, blessed, and prosperous life. God bless you all. Gennette Robinson
Joe and Doris shared a pew with me at church. I always enjoyed visiting with them and missed them when they were unable to attend. My heart felt sympathy to Doris and her family.

Oh, wow. I so knew this day would come, but it does not make the news any easier; on behalf of all the Cook family, we offer our sincere condolences. Gyla, Nancy, Carl, Karen and Doris, may God’s mercy surround all of you during the difficult days ahead.

What a true friend with a wonderful sense of humor. A shining light at Madison Square, and I am proud to have known him.
