John Robert Ashley's Obituary
John Robert Ashley, age 80, of Fall River, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. John was born on May 10, 1932 in Junction City, KS the son of Sherman and Zelma (Martin) Ashley Sr.
John was a graduate of Morganville High School. John served in the U.S. Army, and U.S. Air Force, and served during the Korean War. On May 13, 1966 John married Esther D. Smith in Junction City, KS. John and Esther were married for 42 years until her death of April 14, 2009.
John worked as a welder for Boeing in Wichita. In his spare time, John enjoyed going fishing and hunting. He enjoyed welding things that were a challenge. He loved to work in his garden and try and grow new and different vegetables. John always had a pet and enjoyed spending time with them.

Fred Saville of Fall River, KS
Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren
John was preceded in death by his parents, wife Esther, 3 brothers Dan, Dean and Sherman Ashley Jr., and 3 step siblings Irene Benton, Lewis and James Roberts.
