John Wilson Vance III's Obituary
John Wilson Vance III, 67, of Chanute, KS, passed away at his home on August 18, 2018. He was born in Belleville, IL to John Vance, Jr. and Etta Jane (Hisey) on June 25, 1951. John graduated from Toronto, KS. He married the love of his life, Connie Sue (Ferguson) in Buffalo, KS on December 3, 1967 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage. She survives at their home.
John was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. He worked as an electrician and as a machine operator in cabinet construction. He loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs and NASCAR, and enjoyed hunting. Watching his grandson’s race and his granddaughter play softball were two of his favorite pastimes.

John was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Melissa Marie Vance.
A visitation will be held at Countryside Funeral Home – Gibson Chapel in Chanute, KS on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 5-7:00 p.m. A service will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Gibson Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Cremation will follow.
