John Vernon Vanderpool, 85, of Independence, Ks Passed away December 15. 2023 at Labette Health ER in Independence, KS. John was born April 22, 1938 to Joseph Heron Vanderpool and Clarissa Elnora Lewis.
John Married Dianna Fern Vanderpool and Had 3 Children, 2 sons Johnny and Tony and a daughter Julie.
John and Dianna were married January 1st, 1957 many years before Dianna Passed away on November 15, 2005.
On October 14th, 2007 John Married Patricia Wuerdeman.
John was known as a loving and Christian Man, building his life around God, his kids, and grandkids. He loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping. He was also a big gun lover, always fascinated with his gun collection and always looking to find the newest and nicest guns. Most of all John loved sharing those passions with his kids and grandkids. Watching his grandchildren run and play, and his children grow up always put the biggest smile on his face.
John is Survived by:

John is Preceded in death by Wife’s Dianna Fern Vanderpool and Patricia Vanderpool. Brother Joe Vanderpool and Sister Bonnie Jean.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 2:00 Pm at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, KS. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service.
Burial to follow at Moline City Cemetery.
Memorials have been suggested to a charity of your choice and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
