Johnnie Saxton's Obituary
Johnnie Saxton, age 84, a resident of Howard, Kansas passed away Saturday, January 08, 2011 at the Howard Twilight Manor. He was born on July 12, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio to Verlon and Edith (Devore) Estle.
During World War II he served in the United States Navy. He worked as an automotive mechanic and as a hardware man. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bristol in Bristol, Florida.
Johnnie was united in marriage to Martha Throgmorton on February 14, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio and to this union was born three children Ronald, Michael and Suzanna. On December 7, 1956 he married Vola Elizabeth Touchton in Kansas City, Missouri and to this union was born two children Verlon and Maritta. Vola preceded him in death on February 28, 1988. In August 1988 Johnnie married Edna Puckett and she also preceded him in death in 1995.
He is survived by three sons: Ronald Estle of Mt. Dora, Florida, Michael Estle of Dayton, Ohio and Verlon Saxton Sr. of Howard, Kansas, two daughters Suzie Lamproe of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Maritta Cothron of Eustis, Florida, twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Howard Twilight Manor. Inurnment will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Lakeside Memory Garden in Eustis, Florida. Memorials may be made to the Johnnie Saxton Memorial and may be left with the funeral home.
