Johnny Lee Hole's Obituary
Johnny Lee “Uncle Johnny” Hole, 73, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015 in Chanute, KS. Johnny was born on March 2, 1942 in Chanute, KS the son of John G. and Donna (Spiva) Hole.
Johnny graduated from Chanute High School in 1960. On May 20, 1966, Johnny married Laura Crowell Thompson in Las Vegas, NV.
Johnny served in the Kansas National Guard and worked at Custom Campers for many years before retiring. He loved cars and enjoyed going to car shows. Johnny always had a nice yard and enjoyed working in his yard and garden. He also liked to work with wood and carving. Johnny was a member of the American Legion Post 170 and Elks Lodge #806.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Laura, and a brother, Bobby Spiva.
He is survived by his children: Eddie Crowell of Chanute, Jackie Aday and husband Chris of Chanute, Dawn Lauber and husband Rick of Herndon, VA, and Kent Collins and wife Karol of Wichita, KS; a niece, Tracy Spiva and husband Mark of California; a nephew, Kelly Spiva and wife Tammy of Chanute; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church Good News Center in Chanute. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. The Chanute Honor Guard will be in charge of military honors.
Family requests memorials to Disabled Veterans of America or COPD Foundation and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home at 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS.
