Johnny Lee, is one individual I have thought about throughout life. You see, he tacked the name "Mocus" on me in our high school days that stuck. According to Johnny, it meant "we were great at smelling beer and women, but we could never locate them." I have used the name for passwords, et al, and each time I do--which is often, Johnny would come to mind. I even had it on my license plate. No idea where name came from. Johnny was a great football and basketball player, and we were rivals running track, the hurdles. It was always a great feeling to beat him, which wasn't that often. RIP Johnny.

There are some really good people that are placed on this earth and once in a while there are some exceptional people placed on this earth. Johnny was one of those exceptional ones. He was full of life and he had this positive energy about him that is very rarely seen these days. Everywhere we went together people would gravitate towards him. This aura he had was uncanny. Anywhere we were, he would just walk around making everyone's day. Complete strangers would just walk up to us because they felt this energy. It was amazing to watch. We had so much fun together and we laughed constantly. Every year in April, we would go to Arnold's Greenhouse in Leroy, Ks. In 2013, we spent 4 hours in there looking and buying plants and vegetables. Johnny did love his plants and flowers. Anyway, we were in there so long that customers started coming up to us and asking questions about plants or asking where the petunias were, etc. People thought that we worked there. HAHAHA! We would just show people where everything was. Each of us came out of there with $100.00 worth of plants and we didn't even really know what we had until we got back to Johnny's house. HAHA! Needless to say, we made a lot of new friends and the staff loved us. I will sorely miss these times but the memories will stay with me forever. I will also miss working in his garden and going out to eat, especially at Estrelita's in Humboldt. That restaurant won't be the same without him. I am honored to have known Johnny and I will certainly treasure the memories. I could go on and on but I will end it here.. So, Johnny, since you had to leave us so soon, rest in peace and continue making everyone's day in the Spirit World. One last time until we see you again - AT EASE BUDDY!
Your friend, Derek Hames

I worked with Johnny at custom campers when I was 18. He was always willing to help me and never turned down a chance to give me a hard time. I grew to appreciate and respect him. He is one of those people I have never forgot about over the years as he had a positive impact on my life.
My deepest sympathy to all the family.

Our sincere sympathy to the whole family....May God give you peaceful loving memories to soothe your aching hearts....
