Jon Arthur Cox's Obituary
Jon Arthur Cox, a lifelong resident of Fredonia, KS passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS at the age of 56, just 3 days after losing his dad, Butch.
Jon was born August 28, 1966 in Fredonia to Lawrence “Butch” and Sandra (Clary) Cox. He grew up in Fredonia, attended Fredonia High School, graduating in the class of 1984. After high school, Jon attended Coffeyville Vo-Tech, studying auto mechanics. While going to college, he began working for Hydes Napa in Fredonia, which later became Fredonia Napa, working there on weekends. This would end up being a career fit for Jon, as he continued working there after graduating, and has continued being the “Napa Jon” for the last 38 years. It became widely known, that if you needed something at Napa, Jon was the man to talk to.
On December 24, 1995, Jon married Sandy Miner in Fredonia, KS. Together, they raised their two children, and spent 26 years together. Jon enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it was taking them to Humboldt or Topeka to watch the race cars, watching NASCAR, or country cruising. He loved his family dearly, which included his dogs, Tina and Rocco, and cat, Mason.
Jon is survived by his wife, Sandy of the home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Butch, grandparents, Lawrence “Shorty” and Colleene Cox, Bud and Irene Clary, uncle, Joe Cox, and aunt, Lynnea Cox
The family will be holding a memorial graveside service to honor Jon at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Fredonia City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to honor Jon can be made to the Wilson County Rural Fire Department and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
