Juan Antonio Mata's Obituary
Juan Antonio "Tony" Mata, 56, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Cremation services are in the care of Countryside Funeral Home.
Tony was born November 20, 1958 to Isidro and Maria Mata in Calvert, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eusabio “DC” Casarez Sr., Johnny Mata, and Pete Casarez and his sisters, Victoria Mata, Adelita Mata and Rosa Wiseman. Tony leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Rhonda Purdunn. He also leaves behind his children Melonie Mata-O’Bella and son-in-law, Jesse O’Bella of Bryan, Texas, Tony Mata of Bryan, Texas, Steven Mata and their mother, Francisca Mata of Hearne, Texas, Jake and Danna Purdunn of Oolagah, Oklahoma, Maria Mata of Cherryvale, Kansas and Jennifer Purdunn of Chanute, Kansas. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, Audrey and Tamishia O'Bella-Turner, Jesse O'Bella, III, Daniel Purdunn, Jose O'Bella, Kiah Purdunn, Mia Mata, Chance Wolfe, Paul Dailey, Jeanette Purdunn, Malakai Mata, Angel Mata, Lelyand Burns, Jacob Mata, and Reese Purdunn. Other survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Irma Mata of Hearne, Texas, Cecil and Peggy Mata of Dallas, Texas, Albert and Lupe Mata of Dallas, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Mickey and Ralph Laguna of Dallas, Texas.
