Judith (Bates) Harder's Obituary
Judith (Bates) Harder, age 77 of Longton, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at her home.
Judith was born November 26, 1942 in Topeka, Kansas to George and Virginia (Tschantz) Bates. She graduated from Seaman High School and worked at Stormont Vail Hospital as a nurse’s aide, where she met her husband-to-be, Robert L. Harder. They married in 1962, and moved to Independence, KS in 1965 where they had their children. They later divorced, and Judith moved to Longton in 1978 where she lived until her passing.
Judith is survived by:
Daughter, Robyn Coleman and husband Jim of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin
Son, David Harder of Florida
4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild
Brother, Michael Bates and wife Diana of Topeka, Kansas
Sister, Bobbie Broadbent of Topeka, Kansas
Numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Robert (Bobby) Harder, Jr.
Cremation has been requested.
Memorial service will be held on January 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Christian Community Church, 100 N. Kansas, Longton, Kansas 67352
Visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Christian Community Church or the American Cancer Society and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
