Junior Merle Braman's Obituary
Junior Merl Braman, age 87, of Chanute, KS, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 at Heritage Health Care in Chanute. Junior was born October 3, 1928 in El Dorado, KS the son of Lawrence and Kittie Belle (Grant) Braman.
Junior graduated from Buffalo High School with the class of 1946. On May 15, 1949 he married Thursa Mae Stevens. He was a Farmer/Rancher and worked as a loan officer with Production Credit and also as a commodity broker for 15 years. He loved ranching and raising cattle. Junior was a member of the Buffalo United Methodist Church, Buffalo Cemetery Board, Buffalo Schools Board Member, and the Woodson County Coop Board. He enjoyed country music, and dancing, farming, cattle, horses, sports, water skiing and lively conversations about politics.
Junior is survived by his wife; Thursa, daughter; Marla Braman of Chanute, KS, son; Clay Braman and wife Kathy of Buffalo, KS, brother; Darrell Braman of Bowie, MD, sister; Mary Ellen Edwards of Valley Center, KS, grandchildren; Austin Braman of Buffalo, KS, and Kameron Braman of Nebraska City, NE, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Lawrence and Kittie Belle, brothers; Melvin Dean Braman, Eldon Braman, and sister; Neldora Robinson.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Buffalo United Methodist Church in Buffalo, KS. Cremation will follow the services and inurnment will be held at a later date.
Family suggests memorials to the Buffalo Cemetery Association or Buffalo United Methodist Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home at 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
