Karen Lea LaBarca's Obituary
Karen Lea Russell LaBarca was born on October 16, 1965, to Carolyn Russell and Lester (Les) Russell in Harper, KS. She graduated from Chanute High School in 1984 and later moved to the Kansas City area where she married and had two daughters. She dedicated much of her life to being a mother, a sister, and a daughter before anything else. She loved to do just about anything that involved spending time with friends and family. She was an aspiring artist, model, and entrepreneur. She will be remembered by many as a joyous individual that lit up every room she walked into. Karen was with loved ones when she passed away at the hospital on January 17.
She was preceded in death by her father Les Russell. She is survived by her mother Carolyn Russell and stepfather Tom Tiegreen, sister Kimberly Dewberry (Troy), brother Kevon Russell (Camie), two daughters Annemarie LaBarca and Sophia LaBarca, step brother Chip Tiegreen (Tiffany), step sisters Lori Clements (Craig) and Melissa Delich (Kenny), and many cousins and friends.
A private ceremony will be held under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home.
