Katherine Louise Carlburg's Obituary
Katherine L Carlburg, 83, a long-time resident of Fredonia passed away on Monday, November 20th, 2023, at Neodesha Health and Rehab with her loving family by her side. Katherine was born on May 1, 1940, in Pocahontas, AR to her Father Charles R Gates and her mother Lucy L Forrester, well known as “Granny”.
Katherine moved from Pocahontas to Buxton, KS in her early 20’s before moving to Fredonia and residing there for the remainder of her life. Katherine worked as a Press Operator at Kansas Bank Note for most of her life. Katherine was a wonderous women that was filled with laughter and honesty, but also had a little bit of feistiness in her. She loved to read Louis L'amour and Zane Gray books. She also loved old country movies, Specifically John Wayne movies. She also loved old country music. Katherine also found herself playing bingo and crocheting as it became a passion, but most of all she loved being able to watch her children, grandchildren and Great-grandchildren grow up. She never let them forget how proud of them she was.

Katherine is Preceded in death by her parents Lucy “Granny”, Charles and Everett “Paw”. Husband Donald, Four Brothers Tom, Larry, Charles, and Leon. Two Sisters Joe, Orlis, and Grandchild, Riley.
Cremation has been requested. A Celebration of life will be held at Countryside Funeral Home on Friday, December 1st, 2023 at 10:30 AM. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials can be made out to the Alzheimer’s Foundation and can either be mailed to or left with the Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home 420 S. 20th St., P.O.
