Kenneth Stewart Klepper's Obituary
Kenneth Stewart Klepper, age 81 passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at his home in Severy, Kansas. “Kenny” as he was known by many, and “pa-pa” to his 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren was a hard-working, family loving, Godly man that loved much and was loved much. He was a great example to many.
He was born August 23, 1935 in Pawnee City, Nebraska to the late Kenneth Earl and Bonita Pearl (Stewart) Klepper. One of 11 children, Kenny started building things as a child such as aluminum can toy cars and by 8th grade had built a tractor, which he drove to school. His passion and talent developed from there and eventually he was the owner and operator of Ken’s Welding and Fabrication in Severy, Kansas.
On June 4, 1960, Kenny married Lois Ellen Shugart at the Severy United Methodist Church. Kenny and Lois raised 3 children, Kevin, Shelly and Quentin, who describe their father as a never quitting hard worker and a great dad and grandpa. Kenny also thought of his son-in-law, Chris, as a son, whom with his wife, Shelly, now runs the family business.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lois of 56 years, sons, Kevin and Quentin, daughter Shelly and son-in-law Chris, all of Severy, Kansas; sisters Jenett and husband Kenny Reed of Pawnee City, NE; Beverly Crews of Georgetown, TX; Becki and Bob Smith of Pawnee City, NE; and Cathy and Terry Schafer of DuBois, NE; brothers Herb Klepper of Pawnee City, NE; Richard and Sandy Klepper of Oscola, NE; Jon and Cheryth Klepper of DuBois, NE; Keith and Joyce Klepper of Surprise, AZ and Mike and Linda Klepper of Sabetha, KS; and his 11 prides and joys, his grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Annette Hinrichsen, and grandson Christopher Klepper.
Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas. Funeral services will be Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Severy United Methodist Church in Severy, Kansas with Pastor Stacy Ellsworth officiating. Cremation will follow.
