Kenneth Ray Kramer's Obituary
Kenneth Ray Kramer, 71, of Longton, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in Independence, KS.
Kenneth was born on August 29, 1947 in Independence, KS to Vincent and Treva (Atkinson) Kramer. Kenneth grew up in Longton and graduated from Longton High School in 1965. On August 9, 1975, he was united in marriage to June Wright in Ashland, KS. They resided in Longton their entire marriage.
Kenneth worked as a heavy equipment operator for Martin Marietta for 35 years. He was also a fourth-generation farmer on the family farm. The Kramer farm is a Century Farm, as designated by Farm Bureau, for being in the family over 100 years.
Kenneth was a lifelong member of the Longton Baptist Church. He was a member of the Elk Valley School board for 24 years, serving as President or Vice-President for many years. He also served on the Longton Co-op Board, and the Elk County Free Fair Board.
Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, working on the farm, and watching drag racing. He and June especially enjoyed trips to Grand Cayman and around the state to visit their kids and grandkids. He enjoyed annual bus trips with June and his Elk County friends to locations all over the Midwest. He cherished his roles as Husband, Dad, and Grandpa.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Treva.

Son Thomas Kramer of Newton, KS
Grandchildren Seryn and Alexander
Sister Karen Cook of Longton, KS.
Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Longton Baptist Church.
The family will receive visitors at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, KS on Monday, May 27 from 5:00-7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Elk County Free Fair Association, and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
